Neal Rouzier, MD

Neal Rouzier, MD is a physician, author, and educator whose work centers on bioidentical hormone replacement, preventive medicine, and the physiology of aging. Residency-trained in family practice and emergency medicine, he practiced emergency medicine for more than thirty years, including fifteen in a high-volume emergency department in the San Gabriel Valley. As a result, Neal Rouzier learned a great deal about what it means to intervene after physiology has failed — but he learned very little about actually preventing the failure.

In the mid-1990s, patients and colleagues began describing symptoms his training did not account for. Few physicians at the time received any substantial education in the clinical application of hormone therapy. Rather than adopt someone else's explanation, he went to the literature and read it himself.

By 1997 he was directing the Preventive Medicine Clinics of the Desert in Palm Springs and Palm Desert. In 1999 he began teaching physicians directly, through a CME-accredited seminar series built the way he had taught himself: literature review, physiology, laboratory interpretation, and actual patient cases. Those courses grew more demanding over time, moving into difficult cases, contested literature, and the questions clinicians are left holding after conventional training ends.

He is the author of Natural Hormone Replacement For Men and Women: How to Achieve Healthy Aging and Normal Isn't Optimal. In 2014 he received the Alan P. Mintz, MD Award for Clinical Excellence in Age Management Medicine. He has lectured to physicians across the United States and internationally, has trained thousands of clinicians, and has treated more than 2,000 patients with hormone replacement therapy. As the medical industry continues to evolve, so does Neal. He is a lifetime student of the literature, and will continue to do what he has done since the 1990s: read closely, teach passionately, and tell physicians exactly what they need to know—the truth.
